Phil Jennerjahn for Mayor A leader you can trust
"I went looking to my elected City officials for leadership. Sadly, I didn't see it. That is why I am running for Mayor."

Why Phil Jennerjahn is running for Mayor

There is an old phrase that goes.. "If you don't like what you see, then change it."

I took a good look around and saw only terrible excuses for leadership at the highest levels of our city government.

I believe that the worst offender is Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa.

I have many, many criticisms of him... including that he is dishonest and unethical and corrupt. I feel that because of his own dishonest personal behavior that he lacks the moral authority to be the leader of anything, anywhere. I will address all of these issues in a special section about him on this website.

I am also highly critical of the Los Angeles City Council. I have been to many meetings where they just rubber-stamp and vote "Yes" to just about every single project that comes across their desk. It is outrageously offensive the amount of money that they spend on projects. And it is YOUR tax money they are being so reckless with.

That is an unfortunate side-effect of the dictatorship that the Democratic Party has on this City. The Democratic Party tells people who to vote for, and then the voters willingly comply without questioning the validity of these choices. They vote in people who are completely financially irresponsible. The City has a budget of over 7 BILLION dollars yet they manage to spend all of that money AND MORE by the time they are done. I ask you...where is their sense of self-discipline?

The only chance we will ever have for change in this City is if the Democratic voters decide to have a "citizens revolution" and reject these terrible and corrupt leaders that the Democratic Party keeps placing in front of them, disguised as legitimate candidates.

I think it is time for Conservative leadership here in Los Angeles.

It is time for a leader who will actually admit that there is a problem with illegal immigration and try to crack down on it.

It is time for a leader who will keep a watchful eye on the City budget and try to eliminate wasteful projects and excessive spending. A leader who will end the corruption, fraud and abuses at City Hall. A leader who is unafraid to actually fire people for poor or non-performance of their job duties.

It is time for a leader who will remember who put him in power, and who will treat the voters with dignity and respect, instead of the current level of contempt and hostility they face from the current Mayor and much of the City Council.

I am running for Mayor because I want to be elected the next leader of Los Angeles. I want to take the City in a new direction and provide a higher quality of leadership than the City has been used to for the last four years. I want to be more responsive to the needs of voters. And I want to try to undo the financial catastrophe the current leadership have created.

I want our City to have a Mayor that they can be proud of.

If you agree with these ideas, I ask you to read on and learn more at this website, and then join me at the voting booth on March 3rd, 2009.

Thank you.
