Phil Jennerjahn for Mayor A leader you can trust
"I went looking to my elected City officials for leadership. Sadly, I didn't see it. That is why I am running for Mayor."

About Phil Jennerjahn:

Phil Jennerjahn is originally from Green Bay, Wisconsin. Phil served in the military in the U.S. Army Reserves when he was just barely out of high school. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin in 1991 with a degree in Political Science. After graduation, Phil spent a few years working his way around the world. He lived and worked for lengthy periods in Asia and in Europe. Along the way he acquired considerable language skills and speaks Castillian Spanish fairly well due to his time spent in Spain. (His language skills will be on display in the video section on the other pages of this website.) He believes that this international experience of living and working in other cultures helps to make him uniquely qualified to be the Mayor of one of the most diverse cities in the world. Phil intends to address voters directly in several languages on his videos page on this website.

Phil Jennerjahn moved to Los Angeles in 1993 and completed his first year of law school at Whittier College School of Law. Although he enjoyed the mental challenges that legal study involved, he became discouraged with the expense of attending, and chose not to complete his legal studies.

Phil Jennerjahn then chose to move into the Entertainment industry and in 1995 became a member of the American Federation of TV and Radio Artists. In 1997, Phil became a member of the Screen Actors Guild. Phil admits that his career in entertainment was not as successful as he had wished, but considers himself to be lucky to have worked on many film and television projects over the years.

Phil eventually shifted his focus into the world of writing and editing scripts. He has done a lot of editing and re-writing of the scripts of others, most of it uncredited. Phil also created two situation comedy pilots that were well reviewed by people in the industry, but these projects have not been picked up or produced by the studios at this time.

Phil has worked in a variety of different career fields here in Los Angeles. He has held positions in sales, teaching, transportation, tourism, government work (2000 Census), and even became a licensed California Real Estate Salesperson.

Phil became heavily involved with politics in the election of 2008 when he worked as a Precinct Captain for the McCain campaign, taking charge of the far eastern edge of the 42nd Assembly district. He remarked that it was "very difficult" trying to convince voters to vote for John McCain when 80% of the voters in his district were registered as Democrats.

Even though he was met with rejection on many occasions, Phil was energized by spreading the message of Conservatism door-to-door. Phil considered running for office in the Congressional elections of 2010, but decided instead to enter the City election for Mayor in 2009.

He filed his papers with the City in November of 2008. After successfully filling out his paperwork and obtaining the over 500 necessary petition signatures of registered voters, Phil Jennerjahn was declared on Dec. 2nd by City Clerk Karen Kalfayan to be a "qualified candidate" and his name will be on the March ballot for Mayor in the City election.

Phil states that his three main campaign issues are illegal immigration, getting control over the bloated City budget, and having an open door policy for voters. He discusses these issues at length in videos on his website www.philjennerjahn.com.

Among his many hobbies, Phil has a passion for golf, poker, travel, learning, and adventure. Phil is a member of the Public Links Golf Association of Southern California and is a member of the Roosevelt Golf Club in the Griffith Park area. He maintains a 14 handicap and on Sept. 18, 2000, he achieved a statistical rarity for a golfer.... he scored TWO holes-in-one on the same day. The mathematical odds against this are about 16 billion to one. A talented amateur card player, Phil has won over 20 poker tournaments, many of them against large fields of players. Phil can also play guitar and even learned how to fly an airplane. He has also recently been learning to speak the Russian language, and plans to make a video in Russian for all the Russian voters here in L.A.

Phil has been asked about his surname and his ethnicity at several speaking events. He is half-German on his fathers side and half-Italian on his mothers side. His family has been in America for about 120 years.
